8th Grader

With his luscious tenor and seductive lyrics, San Francisco singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist 8th Grader (AKA, Jayson Martinovich) injects a unique and fresh R&B sensibility to his singular brand of nu-soul. His decadent vocals caress Afro-Cuban polyrhythms, Rhodes piano, and elements of Chillwave. With nods to Prince, Frank Ocean, George Michael and Janet Jackson, 8th Grader fills a nameless void somewhere in between pop and R&B. Currently creating a stir amongst the music blogs, 8th Grader has been gaining acclaim from fans and critics alike with his signature R&B meets Nu-Soul flare.

Antonette Goroch

Antonette Goroch is a singer, songwriter, writer, mother and world traveler. A vocalist and storyteller since the age of 5, she has partaken in many musical styles including musical theater, opera, classical, eastern european folk, punk, rock, blues and Americana. Her sound has been compared to contemporary folk artists including Neko Case and Penelope Houston, but she draws inspiration from artist revolutionaries like Kathleen Hanna and Bertolt Brecht, musical poets like Patty Smith and Leonard Cohen, and reflective observers like John Steinbeck and Jack Kerouac. Her music is equal parts celebration and seduction, pleasure and provocation,– but always an inquisitive dissection of human connection and the power that flows from it.

Astra Via

Astra Via’s sound is not “here,” and not “there,” exactly, but maybe here, there, and everywhere. A bipolar marriage of past and future, where science geek and hopeless romantic meet.

Astra Via is Olivia Mancini & Jarrett Nicolay. Olivia Mancini played bass in indie darlings Washington Social Club, and then moved on to a solo career. Bassist Jarrett Nicolay founded college circuit mainstays Virginia Coalition and cut his electronic teeth on his own project, My New Mixtape. The two bassists have garnered nothing but positive press for their latest endeavor, Astra Via, in which Mancini and Nicolay flex their composition and production muscles to make music unlike anything they have made before.
